Outdoor Recreation Grants
The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department administers two federal grant programs and one state grant program that benefit public outdoor recreational facilities used by North Dakotans. Click below to find more information about these programs.
Land & Water Conservation Fund—This federal grant program provides 50/50 matching grants for outdoor recreation projects by state and local political subdivisions.
Recreational Trails Program—Funding for this program comes through the Federal Highway Administration and provides 80/20 matching grants for both motorized and non-motorized trail projects.
NEW! Recreation Leadership and Facilities Grant Program — This state funded program provides assistance for development or enhancement of recreation programs in communities with a population of 13,000 or less and for development of outdoor recreation facilities throughout North Dakota.
