North Dakota's state parks have an assortment of cross-country ski trails designed to excite novice and advanced skiers. While groomed trails can be found throughout the state, there are also areas where skiers can blaze their own trails through the undisturbed snow.

- The weather frequently changes during the winter making trail conditions challenging to predict. Please check with the park before hitting the trails to ensure trails are open and to check the condition of the trails.
- If you are bringing a large group out to rent equipment, please contact the park ahead of time to ensure equipment will be available.
- The following destinations allow cross-country skiing but do not groom trails; Beaver Lake State Park, Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, Lake Sakakawea State Park, Lewis & Clark State Park, and Missouri River Natural Area.
