Fort Stevenson Regatta and Beach Party
Garrison, ND - Two events are taking place at Fort Stevenson State Park on Saturday, August 22: the 8th Annual Fort Stevenson Regatta and the Garrison Chamber of Commerce Beach Party.
The Fort Stevenson Regatta starts with a captain’s meeting at 9 a.m. in the de Trobriand Lodge. Racing begins at noon, with the course length between eight and 10 miles based on the current weather conditions. Spectators can view the race from the park’s bluffs overlooking Lake Sakakawea and from the Guardhouse Lawn. There is no fee to watch.
Come out to see the sailboats, then stay for the Beach Party! Fun and food for all ages from 5-11 p.m.! Enjoy carnival-style entertainment with new inflatables, games and nine-hole mini-golf. Dance in the sand as Too Old to Stand plays from 6:30-11 p.m. The Beach Party admission cost for K–Adult is $10. Pre-K and under are free. For questions about the Beach Party, call 1-800-799-4242.
Under the ND Smart Restart guidelines and in partnership with local health officials, the following precautions will be put into place. Activities and concession areas will be spaced appropriately to accommodate for social distance protocols. Participants are encouraged to follow social distancing and personal hygiene guidelines. Hand sanitizer will be made available to all participants.
Visit Fort Stevenson State Park to take in these two great events. The park charges a $7 vehicle daily entrance fee unless a State Park Annual Pass is displayed.
