Before Custer: Fort Abraham Lincoln Living History Garrison
Join us for an event that will see the return of the living history encampments to Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. July 17-18th visit and learn from the soldiers of Company B, 6th US Infantry who built, occupied, and defended Fort Abraham Lincoln during the summer of 1873 prior to the arrival of the 7th US Cavalry Regiment under Lt. Col. George A. Custer on September 21. Expect to find reenactors living the life and routine of the standard Infantry Company at old Fort Abraham Lincoln, showcasing the rigors of frontier garrison life such as patrols, guard and fatigue duty, drill, etc.
No matter when guests arrive, they will be able to see some aspect of frontier army life from original infantry artifacts on display to cooking period rations to drill and guard duties.
