Little Monsters Hike

Halloween has arrived at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park.

Hike the Little Monsters Hike from October 18-25 for an adventurous outing. Feel free to dress the whole family in costumes before hiking through Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park.

This 3-mile hike will be a moderate hike on the park grass and multi-use trails. The trail is not stroller friendly; the hike will begin and end at the Custer House Parking Lot.

Due to the social restrictions of COVID-19, until further notice, the park will not be hosting any group hiking activities and will be making the following changes to our 2020 12 Months – 12 Hikes challenge adhering to the recommendations from the CDC.

Little Monsters Hike details:
1. Trail will be on the multi-use singletrack trails starting at the Custer House Parking lot.

2. The trail is approx. a 3-mile loop trail ending back at the Custer House Parking lot.

3. Hike will be active from Oct 18-Oct 25 (7 Days). On Oct 17th the hiking trail map will be made available digitally via, Facebook, Email, or a link on FALSP’s page on NDPRD website www.parkrec.nd.gov

4. On the hike there will be 1 selfie spot at the halfway point along the trail. At the selfie spot, you are required to take a photo that includes yourself/group. You will submit the photo to FALSP via 1 email to falsp@nd.gov by Oct 26, and you receive your credit for October 2020 hiking challenge hike. **Please include your registered name and email with the 2020 Hiking Challenge photo submission**
***Feel free to take other photos along the way and share those with us. We plan to feature photos from people hiking the trail in September on our Facebook and Instagram Channels. ***

5. Plan ahead for your hike. Dress for the weather, Pack water, phone, first aid kit, and maybe an extra pair of shoes in case the trail is muddy. Visitors Services are closed at this time.

6. Always make sure you are following the CDC guidelines and please maintain recommended social distances from others during your visit

7. Park vehicle entrance fees are still required. ***Purchase online before visiting the park. ***

The Little Monsters Hike is the 10th hike in the "12 Months - 12 Hikes" challenge for 2020.

As always with all of our hikes be sure to bring out the whole family for the monthly hikes of 2020 at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. It's always great fun in North Dakota State Parks. The event is FREE with an ND State Parks Annual Pass, or $7 vehicle registration at the entrance to the park. Don't have an ND State Parks Annual Pass, you can make that purchase at the Commissary Store or online at www.parkrec.nd.gov
