Never Forgotten Memorial Walk-a-Thon

Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park invites you to the “Never Forgotten Memorial Walk-a-Thon” to celebrate Memorial Day and honor those who have given everything for our country. Bring your American flags big and small, and hold them high as you walk around the parade grounds of Fort Abraham Lincoln decorated with flags from the various branches of U.S. military. One lap around the Fort Abraham Lincoln parade grounds is 1/2 mile.

Fort Abraham Lincoln, which sits just to the north of the North Dakota State Veterans Cemetery, was one of the earliest installments of military service here in North Dakota and many men lived and died serving their country at Fort Abraham Lincoln.

Over these four days make every lap count in honor of the men and women of North Dakota’s Armed Forces. Walk a lap for each serviceman or woman in your family, friends in the service, or just as a time set aside for your own mental health and wellness.

You have four days from May 28 at 8 a.m. thru sundown on May 31, Memorial Day, to complete however many laps you prefer to do.
