The Outdoor Learning Center (OLC) at Lake Metigoshe State Park is hosting a day camp for youth ages 10-12 that will focus on winter survival. Participants will have fun learning valuable life skills.
Schedule of Activities:
9:00-Noon: Welcome & introductions. Indoor presentation, discussion and hands-on activities pertaining to survival scenarios, fire building techniques, knot tying, finding food/water and orienteering.
Noon-12:30: Lunch Break
12:30-2:00: Let's head outdoors and test those survival skills!
2:00-2:30: Snack & hot chocolate break.
2:30-3:00: Sledding hill fun!
3:00: Pick-up at sledding hill.
Event Information:
- Registration fee is $35/participant; cash or check payments only as we are currently transitioning to a new credit card system.
- Participants are officially registered when both registration forms are completed and payment is processed
- The event includes lunch, afternoon snack, and hot chocolate
- participants need to bring their own sled for the sledding hill
- The event is limited to 12 participants
- Participants required to dress appropriately fro forecasted temperatures and weather conditions.
