Look to the skies and let the fun take flight at Sky Fest! Head to Fort Stevenson State Park on May 23, 24, & 25, from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM daily. Fly your own kite or sit back and watch professional kite flyers launch some of the largest and most impressive kites around.
Special activities will be held each day, including a hands-on build-your-own-kite opportunity. A fun, family-friendly event for all ages, Sky Fest is perfect for first-timers and seasoned kite enthusiasts alike.
Saturday: Family Fun Fly
Bring your kite and join the fun all day long.
- 1 PM: Free kite making for kids ages 3–12 (line up at 12:50 PM)
- 3 PM: Candy Drop
- Night Fly dusk until 9 PM featuring spotlights, LEDs, and illuminated kites
Sunday: Family Fun Fly
The skies stay full of kites all day.
- 2 PM: Photos with Wally the Walleye in front of a giant kite
- 3 PM: Candy Drop
Monday: Red, White & Blue Day
Red, white, and blue kites take over the sky, but all kites are welcome.
- 2 PM: Bol races with prizes
- 3 PM: Raffle Drawing & Candy Drop
Door prizes will be given away throughout the festival. Come experience incredible kite makers and enthusiasts from around the world with fun for the whole family!
The event is free of charge and open to the public. An annual or daily vehicle permit is required for park entrance and can be purchased online or at the park.
