Celebrate the holiday weekend with Lake Metigoshe State Park as you discover what life was like as a frontier soldier, take part in the bike parade, enjoy a fireworks show, or go on a kayaking adventure.
Friday, July 2
9 p.m. Life of a Soldier
Explore what life was like for a soldier serving their country in the late 1800s. Afterward, make some ice cream in a bag and roast your own hotdog over the fire (while supplies last). Assemble at the amphitheater!
Saturday, July 3
9 a.m. Bike Parade Preparations
Put on red, white, and blue and join us at the amphitheater to decorate your bike for the 10 a.m. bike parade that starts at the Metigoshe Fire Station by the West of the Narrows.
10 p.m. Lake Metigoshe Improvement Association’s Fireworks Show
A great vantage spot of Masonic Island is anywhere on the west side of the park so bring a blanket or chair to sit on and enjoy the show!
Sunday, July 4
8 p.m. Kayaking Adventures
Join us at the warming house where we’ll go through the basics prior to heading out to further explore School Section Lake. Equipment will be provided; participation is limited. Participants under the age of 18 must attend with a parent/guardian.
