Bring your valentine this Valentine's Day to Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. We have the perfect way to spend some quality time with that special someone or the whole family. Join us for the annual Sweetheart Hike on Sunday, Feb. 14 beginning at 1 p.m. The guided hike will be about two miles over the hills and through the snow, so wear your winter gear and bring a sled to pull the little ones. The Sweetheart Hike will start and conclude at the park’s Commissary Store.
After the hike, visit the Commissary Store for shopping and ordering warm drinks including our signature ciders and hot chocolates. Or try any of our special delicious espresso beverages.
The Sweetheart Hike will qualify you for the February hike in the North Dakota State Parks 12 Months-12 Hikes Challenge. The February hiking period is open February 14-28.
Hikers are reminded to dress appropriately for the weather. The hike is roughly two miles, moderately strenuous. Trail will not be stroller friendly. Event is free with an annual permit or $7 day pass at the entrance to the park. Annual permits can be purchased at the Commissary Store or online. For more information about the event call 701-667-6340.
