Like finding a pot of gold or seeing a triple Rainbow – St. Patrick’s Day 2019 falls on a Sunday and therefore the luck of the Irish will be ever present on St. Patrick’s Day for the official hike day of the third hike in the 2019 12 Months - 12 Hikes Challenge!
Leo the Leprechaun is upping his game this year at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park! He is planting clues all around the park in hopes to thwart you from finding his precious pot of State Park GOLD. Your job is to hike the park, solve the clues, and find Leo’s pot of gold. When you find it take a gold piece and return that piece of gold back to the park staff. It's all fun and games when tracking Fort Lincoln's Leprechaun, you never know where....you might end up.
HIKE DETAILS
The Scavenger hike kicks off at 1:00 pm from the Fort Abraham Lincoln Commissary Store. This is an unguided hike and can be done as a group or individual and at your own pace. THE HIKE IS NOT A RACE. Hiking participants can start any time between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm on March 17th. Hikers must check in at the Commissary Store to receive the first scavenger clue. All hikers must have their gold piece turned into the park staff at the Commissary Store by 4:00 pm on March 17th in order to qualify for the fabulous prize drawings.

The Leprechaun Leap is the third hike in the 2019 "12 Months - 12 Hikes" Challenge. Hikers are to dress appropriately for the weather. This park event is great for the whole family. The length of the unguided hike can range from 2 to 3 miles on multiple path surfaces. Your path to the gold depends on if you answer the clues correctly. The hike is moderately strenuous.
Trail and paths may not be stroller friendly.
COME EARLY! You can still get registered for the 2019 12for12 hiking challenge and start making those hikes count. Registration will be from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm in the Commissary Store
