Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park

Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park is hosting a special one-night musical, “Evening of Native American Flute Music”, in the On-a-Slant Village. Mandan/Hidatsa & Oneida Native American flutist, Matt Schanandore, will present the event.

“Music is universal and timeless and just like today’s music, it was part of the day to day life in the Mandan earthlodge villages,” said Schanandore. “The evening is always an experience that takes listeners on a journey they won’t forget, listening to the same instrument that was played centuries before in the On-a-Slant Village.”

The event is free, but the park charges a $7 vehicle entrance fee unless a North Dakota State Park Annual Pass is displayed. The program will take place outside in the village plaza. Please bring camping chairs and blankets to set up in the village. If unexpected weather or hot temperatures occur, the program will be hosted inside the village Council Lodge. Please park in the Visitor Center parking lot and proceed across the bridge to the On-a-Slant Village.
