Returning this Christmas season is the “Light the Blockhouse Hike” on Sunday, December 12 at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park.
Join Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park staff as we ring in the 2021 holiday season, flipping the switch on the decorated, iconic infantry post blockhouse! The hike will start and end at the Visitor Center. We will begin the hike at 6 p.m. and conclude with the lighting of the infantry post blockhouse at approx. 6:45 p.m. After the hike stay for fire pits, and a fantastic holiday-themed hot chocolate bar!
Hikers are to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring a flashlight for the hike. The hike is little over a mile, moderately strenuous. Trail will not be stroller friendly.
As always with all of our hikes be sure to bring out the whole family for this wonderful hike to light Fort Lincoln's Blockhouse.
The event is free with an ND Parks & Recreation Annual Permit, or $7 vehicle self-registration at the entrance to the park. Get your 2022 Annual Permit online or at the Visitor Center that evening. They make great gifts!
