Join us this summer for Fort Abraham Lincoln's Star Parties!
The event will be held at the Fort Abraham Lincoln Cavalry Square from 10 p.m. to midnight. Please plan on arriving a little early to get a good observation spot. Sunset will be around 9:27 pm if you want to arrive before darkness descends.
All ages are welcome! Park employees and members of the Bismarck Astronomy Club will instruct participants on how to operate a telescope, how to find stars, constellations, planets, moon craters, and more. Some telescopes & binoculars will be provided, but if you have your telescope or a pair of binoculars, we invite you to bring them along.
If you have one, please bring a red-light flashlight as red light does not interfere with our eye's ability to see celestial objects and stars in the night sky. You're welcome to bring a regular flashlight, but our team asks that they be kept on low beam.
Bathrooms will be available for use in the Commissary building.
The event is free of charge and open to the public. An annual or daily vehicle permit is required for park entrance and can be purchased online or at the park.
