Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park
Join us Saturday, July 27 @ 7:30 p.m. at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park for a special, one-night musical event in the On-a-Slant Village. The event is an "Evening of Native Flute Music" presented by Mandan/ Hidatsa / Oneida Native American flutist Matt Schanandore.

The program will be presented inside the Council Lodge of the On-A-Slant Village. Bench seating will be provided. Please park in the Visitor Center parking lot and proceed across the bridge to the On-a-Slant Village.

Schanandore is a descendant of the Mandan people and an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes/MHA Nation in New Town, ND. Schanandore has studied the art of Native American Flute music on the northern plains for over 15 years. He wonderfully blends the ghostly and melodic native flute music with the ancestral history of the Mandan people and the stories and teachings of his late Grandmother Regina Schanandore or "Eagle Plume Woman."

Schanandore currently works for the Mandan Progress Organization as their Executive Director. Over the years he has traveled extensively performing around the country, particularly with the National Park Service's "Tent of Many Voices" exhibit during the 2004-2006 Lewis and Clark Bicentennial. Join Matt in the On-a-Slant Village, for a wonderful evening at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park.

*Schedule is subject to change.
