Visit and learn from the soldiers of the 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment who manned Fort Abraham Lincoln from 1873 to 1882. Reenactors and living historians will be portraying soldiers of the 7th Cavalry who were left behind to garrison the fort while the rest of the 7th was off on the famed Black Hills Expedition of 1874.

Life of a Frontier Soldier Youth Program

During the special program, kids will take the official oath of enlistment in the U.S. frontier military; learn about life living on a frontier army post; the basics of field rifle and marching drill on the parade ground; and their role as part of Fort Abraham Lincoln.
