Canceled - Snowmobile Safety Class - Jamestown

Unfortunately, we are canceling the snowmobile safety class in Jamestown (Jan 17, 2020) due to lack of interest.

Your child can take an online version of the course at https://www.snowmobilecourse.com/usa/northdakota/ and receive the same certification.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

 

The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a youth snowmobile safety class in Jamestown. This class will certify riders 10 years of age and older who do not have a valid driver's license.
 


First Day Hike

Bring in the New Year on the trail! Cross-country ski, snowshoe or hike on a candlelit trail. Park staff will use candle luminaries to light the trail. Visitors are welcome to enjoy snacks and refreshments. Meet at the Visitor Center at 6:00 PM.
Ski and snowshoe rentals are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Contact the park office at 701-337-5576 for more information.

Ring in the New Year at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Parks with a national “First Day Hike 2020”. This annual tradition is a great way to start off the new year. The hike starts at the Commissary Store at 1:00 pm and will take you on a great hiking adventure in the park bringing you back to the Commissary Store where hot refreshments will be available to warm you up before you set out to enjoy the rest of your New Year’s Day!
 


OLC Winter Survival Day Camp (10-12 year olds)

Winter Day Camp

Fort Stevenson State Park is hosting a winter day camp on December 28 for youth ages 10-13 years offering a variety of winter focused activities. Registration fee is $40/participant and includes materials, lunch and a snack. Participation is limited to 12.
 


Scones for Small Business Saturday

In conjunction with our surrounding communities, we wanted to offer free blueberry and raspberry scones for Small Business Saturday. Since it is our Visitor Appreciation Day, all daily entrance fees to Cross Ranch State Park are waived. Feel free to shop small within our surrounding communities and take a relaxing hike through the park while replenishing with scones and chai tea or coffee. We hope to see you there!

Twelve ornaments will be hidden throughout Fort Stevenson State Park. GPS coordinates for each ornament are posted at geocaching.com and on the Fort Stevenson State Park Facebook and Instagram pages. Coordinates of four ornaments go live each Friday of the Dickens Village Festival.
 


Christmas Open House

Fall Luminary Walk

Warm yourself by the fire and hit the luminary lit trails with us! This event is at the Woodland Lodge from 7-9 pm. Hike the trail at your own pace. Refreshments will be available at the Woodland Lodge. It is a free event, however, vehicle passes are still required.
